A Glimpse On Paramore And Alternative Rock

If there is any band today who had experienced a fast accent on the music charts, it is Paramore. There are now three best selling Paramore albums to date and the sales of each is continuing to rise. While the alternative rock scene is pretty much crowded, without a doubt the band is enjoying a comfortable place at the top. And to think that they just started in 2004.

Paramore was started back in 2004 in the state of Tennessee in the United States. The band consists of the following members: Hayley Williams at the vocals, Zac Farro at the drums, Jeremy Davis at base, Josh Farro as the lead guitarist, and Taylor York with the rhythm guitar. As of this writing, Paramore has come up with three albums with each album a great success. A good proof of this is the continuous demand for the band’s band merch.

The Paramore History

Josh and Zac Farro are brothers and back in 2002 while they were studying in a private school they met Hayley Williams who was then only 13 years old. At that age Hayley was already serious with her music as she was also taking vocal lessons during her free time. The two brothers were then playing in a different band while Hayley and Jeremy Davis were part of a funk band called The Factory. When they finally decided to form their own band, some of the members were a bit apprehensive as to having a girl as their vocalist. However, Hayley had proven her own right to be a member of the band because of her songwriting skills as well as her own singing voice, putting her own marks into the kind of Paramore music that will soon evolve.

To those who are wondering where did they get their name, Paramore, here is the short story about it. It was the maiden name of the mother of one of their former band members and all of them liked the sound of it including the spelling that is why it stuck.

The Three Paramore Albums

Paramore’s first ever released album was called the “All We Know Is Falling”. The album was released on the 24th of July, 2005. “All We Know Is Falling” quickly rose in the charts. It reached the number 8 spot on the UK Rock Chart and also the 30th rank on the Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart. Soon there were fans who were looking for Paramore merch to start their own band collection.

Just before the album was even released, Jeremy Davis had a change of heart and decided to leave the group. However, he was able to contribute on some of the songs and was even present in the recording of a few music videos for the album. But soon afterward, he realized he made a mistake and decided to come back.

The second of the Paramore albums was title the Riot! and it was released on the 12th of June, 2007. Just a year after its launch, Riot! became a platinum record and was certified by the Recording Industry Association of America RIAA). The album produced four hit singles from it, namely: “That’s What You Get”, “Misery Business”, “Crushcrushcrush” and “Hallelujah”.

The third and the latest of their albums is Brand New Eyes. It was released on September 29, 2009. It was also the most successful of the three Paramore albums.

Paramore is continuously producing great music that critics define as a combination of pop, funk, and alternative rock. More is expected from this youthful musical group.
