Learning to Play Piano

A Universal Attraction

When you evaluate the attractions of all the instruments, perhaps the most rewarding to listen to and play, is the piano. Probably the reason is that of all the instruments, the piano produces the the most complete sound. Approximating that of an over-all orchestra. Most of the legendary Classical Music composers worked with the piano. This was the situation even when, in the case of Bach, he was creating music intended to be played on other instruments. That circumstance remains largely the same now. As modern composers creating music for television and the cinema, continue to compose on the piano

A Special Bonus

In addition, the piano gives you an option not present with the majority of other instruments – the capability to play chords and melody at the same time.. Thus opening the door to a universe of musical ideas, challenging to produce on the guitar, for example. Even though, typically chords are generated] with the left hand, and melody with the right, with the piano, you have the option of reversing that order.

Two Flavors to Choose From

Typically, two schools of Piano instruction exist. The challenging method. And the painless method. sadly for me, I was tutored with the difficult method. Monotonous before and after school rehearsal. Mind numbing scales and technical exercises. And a “professor” who sliced my fingers with a metal edged ruler, whenever I hit a wrong note. Undeniably the difficult approach!

Fortunately, now there are easier methods. The kind that had not been introduced when I was an miserable thirteen year old piano student. The overwhelming majority of these programs concentrate on a joyful, rather than a joyless, boring approach to piano learning; that includes songs you like. The end result is that what was agony for me – becomes a delight for you.

A Superstar Tommorrow?

But it’s imperative to keep in mind that “less difficult” does’nt mean “no work.” Don’t suppose that by the next morning you’ll master your best loved tune. Instant achievement as all the piano professionals will tell you, takes practice. The daily kind.

Irrespective of the degree of piano mastery you want to arrive at, only practice will get you there. But there are two pieces of good news here. Fifteen minutes a day does more for you than three hours once a week. And, pursuing the new motivating methods, I’m positive you’ll be contentedly going beyond that informal limit!
