What kind of a music scene does Downtown Detroit have at nighttime?
The next time I visit Downtown Detroit, I would like to check out the music scene. What kind of a music scene does Downtown Detroit have and where are the best places to see good music. I am interested in seeing contemporary new age music, classical music, and jazz music. Also, are the places to see good music safe to travel to at nighttime?

Black Eyed Peas wrote the lyrics. However, the music is sampled from Dick Dale's "Misirlou." The song was made famous as the theme song for the "Pulp Fiction" movie.
theme from pulp fiction
ETA: had to look it up – pulp fiction theme is "Misirlou" (D. Dale)
"Misirlou", by Dick Dale.
the music is from there.
(it's incorporated in the song, and that's the dan den den dan you're talking about)
if you really wanna know, it was featured in the movie Pulp Fiction, and that's why it's so well-known, before the BEP took it and made it a little different
Real category: Funky Hip-hop. Lots of energy, best track of the album (I believe). Other cat: Brilliant

I Think They Had Drunk Red Bull Before The Making Of This Video..
The song sampled for "Pump It" was "Miserlou" by Dick Dale. You may have recognized the guitar part as the theme from the film "Pulp Fiction". The horn section is also part of that song.
And you're right, it does sound similar to the horns in "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly". Alot of the music in so called "Spaghetti Westerns" were influenced by surf-rock bands such as Dick Dale and the Del-tones.

The song's played in a lot of things, such as the movies Pulp Fiction, Back to the Beach, and Ocean's Thirteen. It was also popular playing in the video game, Rayman Raving Rabbids.
It just sounds like they mean crazy dancing. Have you ever seen somebody dance in a way that looks like their pumping their body? That makes the most sense because they arent talking about anything else sexual in the song.

And, best of luck learning it, Dick Dale has a weird style and he is pretty hard to copy…
